A Good Shepherd, Inc. - is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit recognized by the IRS and licensed as a charity in Maryland to accept vehicle donations. Our mission is to bridge donated vehicles with families throughout Montgomery County who are facing economic hardship — because owning a car isn't just about convenience. It represents access to jobs, medical care, stability, and dignity. We accept donated vehicles, have them thoroughly inspected by our network of ASE-certified contract mechanics to meet strict safety criteria, and provide them at a minimal cost to families who qualify — transforming each donation into a real chance at opportunity and self-sufficiency. For many of the families we work with, unreliable or nonexistent transportation is the biggest obstacle keeping a parent from employment or
a household from financial security. Our Vehicle Donation Program exists to break down that obstacle, one car at a time.
Our Quality Standards - We treat every vehicle handoff with integrity and care. Families receiving a vehicle may get a valid
Maryland State Inspection along with a 90-day warranty on qualifying vehicles, so what they receive is something they can genuinely rely on.
Get Involved - Your Contribution Is Tax-Deductible Donated vehicles qualify as fully tax-deductible, and cash donations go toward repairs and program expenses. We welcome support from individuals, religious groups, businesses, auto repair shops, and social service organizations — whether as donors, volunteers, or Partner Agencies.
