A Good Shepherd, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and licensed Maryland charity that connects vehicle donors with low-income, economically disadvantaged families across Montgomery County — because a car is far more than a convenience. It is a lifeline to employment, healthcare, stability, and dignity.

We collect donated vehicles, ensure each meets rigorous safety standards through our network of contracted ASE-certified mechanics, and award them at a nominal cost to qualifying families — turning every act of generosity into a genuine pathway toward opportunity and lasting independence.

For many of those we serve, the absence of reliable transportation is the single greatest barrier standing between a parent and a job, or a family and financial stability. Through our Vehicle Donation Program, we work to remove that barrier — one vehicle at a time.

Every vehicle transfer is handled with care and integrity. Recipients may benefit from a valid Maryland State Inspection and a 90-day warranty on select vehicles, ensuring that what we give is something families can truly depend on.
